CTAC is excited to announce that we’ve formed a partnership with Gridlife securing the use of Gridlife’s Trackbattle time attack ruleset! CTAC will begin using the base ruleset, and will run a traditional time attack format event. The partnership with Gridlife is a step towards bringing the sport of time attack to more drivers with varying car builds, and creating a standardized ruleset across the North American continent.
The main priorities of this partnership and our events are Safety for drivers and staff, and enjoyment of the sport by all involved! This late change to our season plans will hopefully bring great competition to our events. Gridlife has evolved into a national series across the USA with time attack fields often over 100 cars, and fierce competition across a wide variety of cars, and we’re thrilled to bring that energy to iconic Canadian tracks this year! Initial rounds will be utilizing the ruleset with minor changes, with the goal of a full Gridlife points round happening in Canada very soon, stay tuned for details as the season progresses.
Our staff is proud to welcome James Houghton as the Motorsports Director for these events, with mentorship from Adam Jabaay, cofounder/Motorsports director for Gridlife. See below for contact information!
Our Initial schedule announcements have now changed!
Saturday May 13th @ TMP - This will be an open lapping day and a chance to discuss the class system and rule book, as well as any other questions or concerns you might have. Of course it also means you can turn laps! We will be tech inspecting and classing cars on this day. Sticker packages MAY be available.
Saturday June 24 @ SMP -This will be the first competitive event with the rule book. We will have live timing, sticker packages and set run groups. With all the new pavement we believe that lap times will drop drastically from previous years!
Thursday July 27 @ CTMP - Grand Prix Track! - Full Time Attack Event at Mosport GP with the GridLife rule book. We know it’s a Thursday. This was the best date available that we could secure for this year. Come and set a record and see if it stands in 2024!
Monday Aug 21 - GBM - We know! A Monday! Again this was the most fitting date we could secure! There will be no timing at this event but also another great opportunity to bring everyone together and if there are an additional questions etc.. they can be addressed in person and on track!
Saturday Sept 23rd - TMP - This will be our season finale! Again a full Time Attack day with Live timing, full classes etc! Excited to see everyone there and name some champions!
